Patti Twose is Operations Manager, Secretary and Treasurer of Biopons, Inc in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. She also holds the same positions in Mithridion, Inc, a Madison-based company focusing on Alzheimer’s Disease therapies, that Biopons was instrumental in forming. Ms Twose has over 25 years experience in the logistics of starting new businesses, covering sourcing, operations, product development and general management. Previously she played a pivotal role, as Operations Manager, in establishing Scarab Genomics LLC, a spin-out from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, developing improved industrial production strains of E.coli. She founded and directed for 8 years Snowpatch Designs, a successful business designing, manufacturing and marketing specialist active outdoor clothing. It was acquired by an international company. As an independent contractor, she was Director of Product Development for an Irish company, establishing the fastest growing brand of specialist outdoor clothing in the UK, taking it from a standing start to approx. $10m in less than 5 years. She travelled and worked extensively in the Far East (see Doing business with the Far East) and Europe, sourcing, negotiating and commissioning fabric and clothing manufacture. Prior to that, she was an independent Design & Product Development Consultant for a wide range of European clients. Earlier in her career she was a Research Scientist and Toxicological Report writer for ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca), Research Project Assistant at the Dept of Oncology, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, USA and Scientific Researcher for ICI Pharmaceuticals. Her British BSc (Hons) degree in Biological Chemistry, equivalent to a US Masters degree, was granted by the University of Manchester, UK. |
